Prerequisites: Students must have a basic grasp on soldering and be comfortable with a torch.
This single day workshop will focus on creating an ethereal ring made of sterling silver and Kingman Turquoise. Students will delve into the depths of the stone, anchoring a dot of embellishment within the rock, and will set the piece in a delicate setting adorned with delicate pallions of silver. Ring band construction and proper sizing will also be covered. This is an intermediate class- students should have proficient ability with the torch and a saw.
Instructor will provide: fully equipped soldering stations including all chemicals and compounds, flexshafts and accessories, a few extra hand tools for student use, high quality handouts and kits containing all raw materials to make this project.
Students are responsible for bringing:
Saw frame with 2/0 blades
Bench pin and clamp (I recommend a C-clamp or Bessey clamp- both available on Amazon)
